Today we went to York, a very old town that was occupied by Vikings and Romans alike. We arrived at around 8.30 am and had free time until 10.30am. At 10.30 we began a guided tour of the city. We saw the city’s most emblematic landmarks, including the cathedral, the shamble, the Clifford Tower and the ruins of ancient Viking buildings. Today was the King’s birthday, and at midday there was a celebration with a brass band and cannon firings. At the end of the tour, we had free time for lunch. Then at 2.30pm we visited the museum on the history of chocolate. Afterwards we visited the castle museum before having free time again until 7pm.
